iDARE'08

Hello!

its great to be back!... but i miss the camp so much!... this is the first time i ever missed a camp!... if u think xms adventure camp was fun, this is at least 10x better... maybe cause i had a great grp and we won most enthu grp sia!... let me start from the first day and tell u all about it!... tis may get a bit draggy but i jus wanna tell u all everything bout the camp!:)... mus reach finish wor!...

Girls(from left): Me, Joan( my bunkmate), Karen (looks familiar?she's our senior from xms),sylvia( my bunk mate the one on the bed beside me)

Guys(from left): Gabriel (my dance partner and for all the various activities), Kent(the one in yellow, the one with the contagious laughter), Qaiser(the one in red aka the joker), joel (the quiet one), shawn (big 2 mate), wilson( the yellow one, my grp leader), kai (the one in black, the one look like zhen yuan chang), julius( the one in front)

DAY 1

the happenings: my family woke up at 6 to take a cab to tannah merah mrt station... so early la... nv woke up so early since mar... haha... if u think my parents are very poor thing cause they hv to wake up so early to pei wo... u r so wrong... they woke up even earlier to prepare cause they going genting... lol... lucky nv follow them, sian of tat place liao... met my grp at the mrt station then we boarded the bus to go to the ferry terminal... the bus was sbs one then so pack only half could board... haha.. luckily my grp got on the first one... hehe... we reached the ferry terminal at 8.. then my leader told us the ferry is at 11... we were like omg!3 hrs la!can slp more lor.... but turned out he bluff us the ferry is 9... heng ah.. on the ferry my grp was starting to warm up, we played big 2, murderer, indian poker... when we reached finally, we took a bus tat brought us to the place we were going to stay... it was such a ulu place.. it was not a resort... but anyway it had aircon.. so still quite gd.. it was on double decker bed... i slp below cause scared roll on the floor... we settled down and there was a little briefing.. blah lah blah... and the next thing u know we were playing games... we had to step on numbers... sounds easy?.. not really... there were 3 rds and the numbers kept switching and skipping.. my grp won the game though and we went to ride the ATVs... the cars thingy where we ride over the mud... it was super cool... nv got very dirty though... drive carefully ma...but i nearly bang a tree... haha... my partner gabriel not any better.. jus as he ask me whether he was a better driver... he also went off course and bang into the long grass... hehe... when we tried to reverse, the grp behind us bang us and everyone bang tgt.. haha... we continued with some other games and had our long awaited lunch... it was so big man.. imagine the packet is as big as those zi char takeaway one then it was filled from corner to corner.. and the food got 4 dishes.. 3 got sambal one... so shoik lor... then qaiser aka the joker of our grp cannot eat cause he having sore throat... btw all the meals had sambal even breakfast except two... so everyday before meal we would dsturb him tat there was sambal and when he opened the pkt then he will say F*** la, sambal again!.. then we will all laugh at him... we nxt went for low elements.. the tight rope, the "low" wall, the wheel watch aka the giant see saw where we had to balance it... they all needed team work and it helped us to bond tgt as a camp... quite cool and fun... if u are wondering when this post will end.... haha i am only like 1/20 done... i started at 11, now 11.45 liao lor... haha.... then it was dinner and aft tat was night walk.. only two at a time, then before tat they were saying ghost stories la... i was totally freaked out when i went in the jungle... and it was super muddy la... then seniors were scaring us la.. i totally screamed... lucky got my partner.. then when we were done we went to bathe... it was common toliet... like jalan bathera only w/o the spiders but got mosquitoes.. got bitten when i was bathing... i started bathing the water got lesser and lesser lor... the i keep fiddling with the tap and it suddenly dropped off... haha.... but i got more water cos it all flowed out then the other girls got no water... cos if too many ppl bathe at the same time water pressure low... so got very little water to bathe... lights out at 11... could not slp though

Highlight of the day: the ATVs!... they were super cool!... 250cc...

Reflection for the day: dun hear too many ghost stories before u slp and dun slp beside someone who snores... i could not slp evn though i super tired....

DAY 2

the happenings: woke up at 6 plus cos cannot slp and we were supposed to gather at 7.30 anyway... when i woke up there were many ppl awake and alarms were ringing... evryone tot 7.30 spore time must gather.... haha... if u are scratching ur head, bintan is behind spore by an hr... we 7.30, bintan only 6.30... lol... we had pt and we ate lunch before going to hiking on a hill... the bus ride was an hr away.. the bus driver evn climbed a tree to clear the cables hanging above us so that the bus could go under and we could go thru, he was not very slim btw... imagine a sbs bus driver doing tat... it was so cool lor.. when he came back on the bus we cheered for him like siao lor... we finally reached the hill!...if u are thinking bukit timah hill, forget it this hill was much higher and steeper... we climbed and i sweat like siao... can u see it is alrdy quite steep... but this
pic was taken only 1/4 up and the whole thing took us 1 1/2 hrs up... the hill was more than 60 degrees steep lor... it was super scary when ppl fell... i fell a couple of times... no pain, no gain.. i perserved cos got waterfall to see.... we only had to rely on ropes to go up and down...when we came down, it was super slippery and it hurt myself when i was come down a 80 degrees slope cos we had to repel down.... when we reached the waterfall, it was nothing fantastic really... i then realised we were at the bottom of the hill... i could hv walked 10 mins to see it la.. it is like from one exit to the other only... i had rope burn too and dirty shoes...sigh nv, it tot me to perserve... hehe..we had lunch aft tat... and we tot we had rafting only but it turned out that we were going for jet skiing too!... we were all like so excited cos s'pore only 21 and above can ride and must have license too.... it was super cool sia... i could feel the wind in my hair and the waves crashing towards us... the sea was super choppy so it was more dangerous and fun lor.... Qaiser capsized 6 times, broke record... it was ultra funny... we kept riding and laughing at him... the experience was damn great.... then we had bbq dinner finally w/o sambal... haha.... we actually did not want to bathe cos we scared bathe alrdy later bbq very smelly but the seniors make us bathe lor.... then we realised the bbq we no need cook ourselves... there was professional chef cooking for us lor... it was ultra cool... nv in my life i ate bbq with chef cooking for me and it is not chao ta one... aft tat was R&R then we practised our campfire performance.... then zzzzzz....


Highlight of the day: the jet ski!!!!.... indescribible feeling....

Reflection: be contended with ur life and stop whinning about how tough it is.... cos when i was in the bus aft the hike i saw these...




ppl there stay in harsh conditions and they lead hard lifes...compared to their lifes ours are so much better:)... so ppl don complain bout having no air con or no tv or no computer... it is a luxury to those ppl....

DAY 3

the happenings: woke up at 6.30... eat breakfast... then we all took a bus to a place where the high elements were... my grp did some low elements first... it required us to hv teamwork and to use our brains... we completed the whole course in 32 mins... fastest of the day!... then we did high elements... the tight rope and some other rope thing and pampers pole.... let me show u me on the pole.... it was super fun....



then we had lunch and went for paintball and TCP[ team challenge pyramid].... wat i hv been waiting for!... the paint ball we had to divide our grp into 4 and shoot each other with an objective to snatch the flag... my grp was so funny... the two guys went out of amo and left me alone shooting 3 enemies... so ya we lost... haha... it was not tat fun but it is definitely a gd experience..... the TCP looks like tis... the whole thing is 8 storeys high...


we started by crossing a shaky bridge and a log then swing across and another shaky bridge, a rock wall then a ladder... sounds easy?... we took about 1 1/2... imagine standing for 1 hr plus in the air with ur legs shaking... but i had lots fun... everyone kept disturbing each other if they had their hp in their pockets cause all our legs were vibrating.... get it?... haha...when i reached the top we were suppose to flying fox down and only then did i realise it was 8 storeys high, i tot it was only 5... my whole legs was shaky like hell la..... i manage to fliy down though... haha.. tats me... can see?... i had loads of fun on it... though i climbed up so long for 10s of thrill only...



then we returned to the camp site and went to the beach for campfire!...


tats me.. haha.. i look fat though... we had performances and all they performances were related to gay or had sexual references like 69 and other stuff... it was pretty funny though...we also got to knoe our angel and mortal... we were playing tat during the camp... and we had friendship dance... it was not the best campfire i had but it had the funniest performances though..... then it was back to the bunks.. there was no lights out so i did not slp the whole night... haha... only 4 ppl manage to do tat lor... the rest were all slping... but all at diff times... my grp went to slp aft a rd of ghost stories.... i think i became braver cos i heard a lot of ghost stories... nxt day can tell u all... hehe.... then i played big 2 agian.... by within this period a lot of ppl were getting pranked.... there was a grp of ppl squeeezing shampoo, colgate and glitter on ppl hair and also using fasteners to fasten ppl to their beds... haha... the everyone scared to slp so ask those awake ones to keep look out lor... haha....

Highlight of the day: everything!... wat a great day i had....

Reflection: nv slp if there are ppl pranking u... it is ultra disgusting.... and wl ps do not try it on us.... haha

DAY 4

the happenings: time to pack up!... i went to brush my teeth before everyone woke up... felt a bit slpy but endured... ate breakfast... nad it was R&R.... we wanted to go for jet ski again but it was 80 dollars for an hr... too ex so we went to walk walk and do other stuff.. we went to their zoo... it was free cos it is so tiny... smaller than my house.... then i went to beach with my 2 grop mates... the rest scared hot so went find shelter... here are some pics..

the beach fabulous lor.. i will go back there some day... it such a peaceful and nice place... then we went for buffet in a village... only then i realise 6000rp= sgd 1... so the ice cream they ate was 6000 rp... then another shop was selling at 1.40 so everyone went to buy from the other shop which look nicer... everyone tot the lousier looking shop will sell cheaper ma, but it is not true lor... then we took 5 mins bus ride to the feryy terminal... and we all ko on the ferry... when i woke up i only heard wilson telling me congrat u hv gradutated from iDARE, then he shake my hand but i was like so blur... everyoe else was too... haha... then i shared a cab back.... and i am now continuing with my normal life...

Highlight of the day: the beach!... fantastic scenery...

Reflection: i miss camp and muah chee and the activities and the place!...

haha.. so ya tats all... did u skip reading anything?... or r u feeling jealous?... don worry la... we could all go tgt nxt time:)...
